About TCIA(Taiwan Chemical Industry Association)

TCIA was founded on December 16, 2003 with the support from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). It was registered and gained operation permit from Ministry of the Interior. The board member of TCIA includes 27 board directors and 9 board supervisors. The first Chairman of the board is Dr. Wu-Hsun Cheng (2003~2005), the second Chairman of the board is Alex T.T. Kuo (2006~2009), the third and fourth Chairman of the board is Cheng Ching Wu (2010~2015), the fifth and sixth Chairman of the board is Bowei Lee who took the position since 2016.

TCIA is a non-profit organization combining chemical related corporations, academics and research groups to serve industries such as basic consumer products, electronics, photonics, communications and biotechnology with chemical technology. TCIA also aims to expedite the upgrade of the chemical industry and its downstream industries, to promote industrial information exchange and effective resource utilization, and to increase the added-value of chemical industry.

TCIA serves as an international window for the domestic chemical industry and strives to become an international organization. Meanwhile, TCIA also promotes the integration of domestic resources and technologies as well as business alliances. It is chartered to lead the transformation and shape the future for domestic chemical industry.

Missions
  1. To urge the government towards policy & legislation for development of the chemical technology industry.
  2. To support policy promotion and implementation.
  3. To enhance the social and environmental responsibilities of the chemical industry.
  4. To introduce and promote the Responsible Care® system in Taiwan chemical industry.
  5. To act as the contact point of International community on behalf of Taiwan chemical industry.
  6. To promote cooperation among government, academia, industrial upstream, midstream and downstream segments to strengthen global competitiveness.
  7. To promote communication and applications for the first-hand information and opportunities of the global market.
  8. To implement the training and recruitment of industrial talent.
  9. Other affairs to serve purposes of TCIA.
